It’s been a couple weeks now since Ryan Lochte said he was held up at gunpoint in Rio which ultimately set off #LochteGate, and now the Olympian is opening up a bit more about his mistakes on GMA!
As you’re probably aware, Ryan was charged with filing a false police report after footage came out that showed the swimmer drunk and hanging out with some teammates at the gas station in question.

While the 32-year-old has already talked a bit about his lie, on Tuesday morning Lochte sat down with GMA to chat it up about the controversy as he explained how the lie came about, saying:
“I’m not one to make excuses, but I was still intoxicated.”
Uhm, that sure sounds like an excuse to us! LOLz!
However, the gold medal winner did admit that he fabricated the truth when saying he had a gun pointed to his head:
“Like I said, I did lie about that one part. I take full responsibility. I’m human. I made a mistake. A very big mistake.”
Ch-ch-check out Ryan’s revealing interview (below) as the studly athlete does his best to remember the answers his lawyers have prepared for him as well as chat a little about his upcoming Dancing With The Stars appearance!
