Oh the woes of being famous enough to have overzealous fans!
Ryan Lochte, Olympic swimmer and ex-reality show haver, has been injured by an excited fan — and has been hurt enough that he’ll be out of the pool for a while!
The 29-year-old gold medalist injured his left knee after a teenage girl saw him and ran at him. That’s right, the 6’2″ monster of a man couldn’t handle a tiny teen!
He caught her, but ended up going down as a result with Ryan hitting the curb below with his knee. The girl is fine├óΓé¼┬ª as fine as you can be for almost ending the career of one of your nation’s best Olympic swimmers!
Here’s what his publicist said:
“As a result of a freak injury caused by an unexpected fan encounter, Ryan has suffered a torn MCL and an ACL sprain and will be taking a break from training and competition.”
Bummer!
