Ryan Phillippe Drops Official Legal Response To Domestic Violence Claims, Says Ex Just Wants Money And 'Publicity'

no title
UPDATE 9:10 P.M. EST: Ryan wants everyone to know he wouldn’t even call Elsie his ex-girlfriend. He tweeted the following late Wednesday afternoon:

Ryan Phillippe has already vehemently denied the claims by Elsie Hewitt that he assaulted her, throwing her down the stairs of his home.
But now he’s done so on the record.
In legal documents obtained by TMZ, Phillippe says he only ever treated Hewitt with “kindness and respect” and never physically harmed her in any way — and that he’s considering further legal action but thus far is not countersuing for defamation.
The Shooter star’s legal response says it was only after the model broke into his home “completely intoxicated” that she “commenced her scheme by making a false report to the police, wrongfully accusing [him] of injuring her.”

He says Hewitt, who is seeking $1 million in damages, “fabricated a story in an unjustified attempt to extort money from Phillippe and gain publicity for herself and her modeling career.”
Sadly, it all sounds disturbingly like what most Internet commenters say about women’s claims of abuse.
Phillippe makes a point of saying how devastated he was by the accusation, noting that he “was raised by women in a household where women’s rights, feminism, and advocacy were very much at the forefront, and he is sickened to be falsely accused of domestic violence.”
What do YOU think of his defense??
