Tis the season!
As the holidays approach, divorced couples are figuring out how to balance spending time with their children.
But it sounds like Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe — who divorced back in November of 2008 — are totally on the same page when it comes to their two teenagers, Ava, 17, and Deacon, 13.

Speaking with ET of his Thanksgiving plans at the Innocence Project benefit gala in New York City on Tuesday, the 42-year-old dished:
“As a divorced dad we trade off, so last year my kids and I went to my parents in Delaware, this year they will be with their mom and I am shooting a movie up in Toronto. I am going to fly down to Philly and just have a Thanksgiving with my parents and the kids get to be with Reese.”
That sounds fair!
The Shooter star continued by saying he and the 40-year-old are “healthy about how we do things”:
“You have to get to that point as a divorced parent, as any parent, where you’re not putting yourself first. You want the kids’ experience to be its own and not like, ‘Well, I need to have my time!’ We have been very good about that.”
We know it can’t always be easy, but we’re happy Ryan and Reese are putting their kiddos first!
