Sam Asghari cannot say much about his divorce from Britney Spears, all thanks to a nondisclosure agreement. However, that is not stopping him from saying a few things about it!
During an interview on The Viall Files podcast on Wednesday, the actor confirmed he had to sign an NDA during his seven-year romance with the singer. As he put it:
“You can’t take a poop in Hollywood without having an NDA. … That’s the true part of it.”

Page Six previously reported that Sam signed the nondisclosure agreement “years ago that bars him from going into detail about his marriage to the Princess of Pop.” And why wouldn’t Britney have him sign one? It’s standard, especially for someone as famous as her! The pop star’s NDA may have been super strict, though! Other outlets claimed the former personal trainer agreed not “to say anything negative or positive” about his ex-wife, but an insider told Page Six that there was “not a complete ban.” That seems to be true. He opened up the relationship with Britney on the podcast. However, Sam has some limitations on what he can say!
When host Nick Viall asked him what caused the divorce from Britney, The Traitors star could not share and had to talk around the situation due to what he called a “gag order.” What Sam did note is that “when it comes to breakups, splits, divorce, it sucks.” Oof. He continued:
“I always hated the fact that somebody goes and talks about this and cries and tries to get attention or use that as leverage. It’s my life. I lived it. I experienced it. But I think certain things you talk about in public and certain things you don’t. And I think it doesn’t matter what the cause was. I think what matters the most is the time that we spent together, the things that we’ve learned. And that was a big part of my life and her life as well.”
Although the pair are broken up, Sam would like to be on friendly terms with her one day. Sam expressed that he is “always gonna have respect” for Britney no matter what and “would like to, at some point,” have contact with her again. He added:
“I wish her the best.”
At least Sam had some positive things to say — even if that may have been the terms of the NDA! He could have said nothing at all and said next question but chose to speak some kind words about Brit. Watch the interview (below):
