Musician Sam Smith Comes Out! Yay! Read His Inspiring Words HERE!

Congrats, Sam Smith!
Sam just came out, and we couldn’t be more proud of him!
In a recent interview, Sam mentioned that his song In the Lonely Hour is about a guy he was actually in love with:

In the Lonely Hour is about a guy that I fell in love with last year, and he didn├óΓé¼Γäót love me back. I think I├óΓé¼Γäóm over it now, but I was in a very dark place…I told him about it recently, and obviously it was never going to go the way I wanted it to go, because he doesn├óΓé¼Γäót love me. But it was good as a form of closure, to get it off my chest and tell him. I feel better for it. I feel almost like I signed off this part of my life where I keep giving myself to guys who are never going to love me back. It feels good to have interviews like this, to chat about it and put stuff to bed. It├óΓé¼Γäós all there now, and I can move on and hopefully find a guy who can love me the way I love him.”

Well, it’s too bad that the guy didn’t return your feeling, but it’s his loss!
Sam also talked about being so open in his music:

“I want to make it a normality because this is a non-issue. People wouldn├óΓé¼Γäót ask a straight person these questions. I├óΓé¼Γäóve tried to be clever with this album, because it├óΓé¼Γäós also important to me that my music reaches everybody. I├óΓé¼Γäóve made my music so that it could be about anything and everybody├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥ whether it├óΓé¼Γäós a guy, a female or a goat├óΓé¼ΓÇ¥and everybody can relate to that. I├óΓé¼Γäóm not in this industry to talk about my personal life unless it├óΓé¼Γäós in a musical form.”

Amen. It should be a non-issue, and we think that the more people can open up so freely, the less of an issue it will be!
And Sam’s right, love and longing are feelings accessible to everyone, no matter who you love!
