Like Sunday, a man rolled up to the Spaceship Church in Hollywood in a red convertible and came at the security guard wielding Samurai swords. The security guard, appropriately fearing for his safety, shot the man down dead.

While calls to Scientology spokespeople were not answered in time, detective Wendi Berndt told the LA Times that the man had a relationship with the Church, though “it is unclear to what degree.”
Surveillance cameras clearly revealed that the security guard was in danger, according to LA Deputy Police Chief Terry S. Hara, though further investigation will be conducted to determine if the guard’s reaction was indeed justified.
