San Diego may still be in danger of losing Comic-Con eventually, but California nerds can rest easy for the time being!
Mayor Jerry Sanders has announced that the pop culture extravaganza has extended its commitment to the city one more year.
Originally, the contract was only through 2015, with many vendors threatening to pull out unless the city expands the Convention Center to better accommodate the 130,000+ crowds.
The city has agreed to a $500,000 dollar expansion- not too bad when you consider the convention brings an estimated $160,000 to the city EVERY YEAR!
So for now Comic-Con has agreed to stay SDCC at least until 2016! Maybe we’ll even have a Justice League movie by then!
