We totally didn’t see this coming.
After an Emmy-winning night last night, Sarah Hyland is feeling really low this morning a she and Matt Prokop have broken up after five years of dating!
The couple have reportedly split on amicable terms, saying that they’ll work out better as friends since the relationship just didn’t work out in the long run.
While this is very sad, Sarah had been dating Matt since she was 18 years old, so it makes a little sense to us that the young couple would want to see other people.
After Modern Family won its fifth straight Emmy, the Teen Choice Awards host attended an HBO after party without Matt, and was reportedly having a great time on her own!
We’re sad that Sarah and Matt have broken up, but if it’s what the pair wanted, then we can only wish them the very best.
