Sarah Hyland Shares A Positive Health Update After Second Kidney Transplant

Sarah Hyland

Sarah Hyland is doing much better these days!
Fans of the Modern Family actress can rejoice, as she recently shared that her health has significantly improved a full year after a kidney transplant procedure that saved her life.

The 28-year-old told ET exclusively, “I’m doing really really well,” when they caught up with her at W Magazine‘s party in El Lay this week.
Sarah credits some quality time off, like vacationing with her love Wells Adams, as a huge part of her recovery:

“I just came back from Mexico and that was really, really nice. The good thing about being stable, health-wise, and having an amazing significant other is that now I’m able to travel more… The last time I took a vacation before this year I was 24. I just turned 28, so I’ve just been either working on my health or working nonstop, so it’s really good to be able to do something like that now.”

And we have to agree — Sarah clearly looks happy, healthy and in good hands with her boo (below):

We first learned about the actress’ health struggles when she tearfully opened up to Self (and the world) late last year. ICYMI, Hyland explains how she spent the holidays (including her own birthday) in the hospital after suffering complications from her first kidney transplant. Despite efforts to save it, her body rejected the kidney.
Sarah later received a new kidney from her younger brother, Ian, with the transplant taking place in May of 2017.
We’re so glad to hear that things are going much better this time around!
Stay happy and healthy, girl!
