Or, to be more precise, how her marriage to Matthew Broderick hasn’t suffered the same blow.
This morning, Sarah Jessica Parker stopped by the FOX FM├óΓé¼Γäós Matt & Jo Show and was asked if she would like to comment on the “sad ending to a very new marriage.” Aka, Kim Kardashian’s divorce. (Because is there anything else worth talking about?)
Being the classy lady that she is, SJP didn’t throw Kim under the bus for her misfortune, but rather related the sittuation to her own marriage, and pointed out how she’s made her relationship last.
Here’s a snippet from the interview:
Jo: You and your husband, Matthew Broderick are an example of a successful relationship in Hollywood from a longevity point of view and in the last 24 hours we have seen a very sad ending to a very new marriage. Have you got any tips for a successful marriage?
Sarah Jessica Parker: First of all, we live in New York.
Jo: Do you think that it helps being away from Hollywood?
SJP: I suspect that we choose to live our lives very differently. We├óΓé¼Γäóre not terribly public and we don├óΓé¼Γäót talk about our marriage a lot. We don├óΓé¼Γäót share those kinds of details, we don├óΓé¼Γäót offer them up … maybe that├óΓé¼Γäós something to think about.
Jo: Yes, I’m thinking about that, absolutely.
SJP: I don’t have tips actually but I am a believer of the fine art of discretion.
Discretion? Such a novel idea! Why on Earth didn’t they consider that?
Oh yeah, because for the better part of the last five years, every major moment in her life has played out on TV. It’s almost like not being able to function with the cameras around.
Such is the choice she decided to make!
