In an interview with Health magazine, Sarah Michelle Gellar opened up a lot about things we never knew she felt!
She talked about insecurity:
“I totally have body dysmorphic disorder. I think most women do…I just have to remember that I’m human, and I’m a mom. Being a parent changes the vanity at least a little bit.”
Gurl, you have nothing to dislike about your body! It’s rockin’!
So are most other women’s. We’re not saying that BDD is something someone can just “get over,” not at all, we’re just here to point out that even if you have it we think you’re beautiful!
She talked about Kate Middleton’s weight:
“It seems like people are worried that she’s stressed. I feel like 10 years ago, it would have been like, ‘Oh, she looks incredible.’ Whereas you look at her sister, who has such a fabulously athletic body…and I think there’s this movement now, where more women, finally, want to look like that.”
We’ll be honest, we’re a little worried about her — she’s looking SUPER thin. We hope you’re right about the athleticism, though!
On staying in shape during pregnancy, and the idea of using a photo of someone in shape as inspiration:
“Well, I went into labor at the Pilates gym. I was getting cranky…it turned out I was in labor, I didn’t realize.
“I would never do that to myself, especially because I’m aware of the airbrushing and trainers and food programs. You have to use yourself as inspiration.”
We would have never guessed she has BDD, but it’s great to hear that she can recognized and control it!
Not only that, but her other thoughts seemed to be right on as well!
Hope the new show does well, Sarah! (maybe avoid scenes on boats from now on though, until a bigger budget comes through!)
