Sarah Paulson May Have Developed A Smoking Problem Thanks To Playing Marcia Clark On The People V. O.J. Simpson! Oh No!

Marcia Clark is a bad influence on Sarah Paulson!
The actress is absolutely killing it in The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story, giving a layered and nuanced performance playing lead prosecutor in O.J. Simpson‘s murder trial.
Paulson went to great lengths to make sure she properly mimicked all of Clark’s physical quirks and tics — but one of the character’s habits rubbed off on the actress more than she hoped it would!
Stopping by The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Thursday night, the 41-year-old revealed that she was actually smoking in the many scenes that show Clark sucking on a cigarette.

While at first, Paulson said she was “coughing a lot,” but admitted that eventually started looking forward to any scenes with cigs! She said:

“Eventually I started to be like . . . I was ready for a smoke. I was like, ├óΓé¼╦£Hey, hey!’ It got me a little crazy for the ciggies. I also smoke in American Horror Story and I was shooting them at the same time so it was a real situation.”

We can imagine it’s pretty easy to get hooked on smoking when filming all those intense, dramatic scenes!
