Scarlett Johansson kindly requests privacy in light of the dissolution of her marriage to Romain Dauriac.

The Ghost in the Shell star has released a statement a day after divorce papers were officially filed in court.
It reads:
“As a devoted mother and private person and with complete awareness that my daughter will one day be old enough to read the news about herself, I would only like to say that I will never, ever be commenting on the dissolution of my marriage. Out of respect for my desires as a parent and out of respect for all working moms, it is with kindness that I ask other parties involved and the media to do the same. Thank you.”
According to the papers filed, the marriage is “irretrievably broken” and Scarlett would also like full custody of the couple’s three-year-old daughter Rose Dorothy.
However, according to his lawyer, Romain also plans to fight for custody, as he wants to move to France with little Rose.
The couple married in 2014 and were rumored to be separated by summer 2016.
Here’s hoping they can settle the custody matter quickly and amicably.
