Earlier this month, Scarlett Johansson made headlines when it was revealed that she — a cisgender actress — would play a transgender man in the upcoming drama Rub & Tug.
In a video from INTO published last week, trans actors turn the tables on ScarJo by auditioning for HER roles!
This highlights a point championed by actors like Laverne Cox who argue that ScarJo’s casting in said role wouldn’t be such a big deal if trans actors were ever given opportunities to play cis characters. Sadly, that is not the reality right now.
