“BO” is a no-no for these feathered friends!
Kiwis are native birds of New Zealand, known for their small size and unmistakable odor. These cute little guys pack a potent stench that makes them pretty unattractive to noses, but easily discoverable to predators.
Fearful that the birds could become endangered by the ever growing mammal population that feeds on them, scientists are hoping to develop a birdie deodorant to mask their smell.
Inventive, but we don’t like the idea that their might be animal testing to ensure this product works. Better find a way around that!
In case you were wondering, scientists explain that kiwis tend to smell like “mushrooms or ammonia.”
Strange little things, aren’t they?!
