So what’s the deal with Scott Disick and Sofia Richie right now?!
On Sunday evening, we reported on the pair being spotted together at a Malibu shindig to celebrate the Fourth of July — an interesting occurrence, considering they broke up back in May after nearly three years together. So, does the Independence Day outing suggest a reconciliation?! Well… not quite.

A source spoke to People about the former lovers’ current connection, dousing the proverbial flames with water while noting there’s more of a platonic friendship here than anything else:
“[They] spent a relaxing day in Malibu … They seemed happy together but more friendly than romantic.”
Oh! OK, then!
Friendship is probably what the 37-year-old Flip It Like Disick star needs right now, whether from a former girlfriend or really anybody else in his life. As we’ve been following, the last couple months of coronavirus quarantine and pandemic shutdowns have wreaked havoc on the reality TV star’s mental state, to the point where he previously sought out treatment to get back on track. Focusing on that — and his family — has become far more of a priority for Disick than his relationship with the 21-year-old model.
As for Richie’s part in this whole thing, insiders suggested she slowly began to understand over time just how closely-bonded Lord Disick is to baby momma and longtime love Kourtney Kardashian. Regardless of current relationship status, the co-parents have a serious love for each other, and always will, considering the fact that they share sons Mason, 10, and Reign, 5, and daughter Penelope, 7. That’s nearly an impossible thing to get in between, as Sofia has slowly discovered…

And so here we are, with Disick and Richie mutually cordial enough to have a friendly outing on a Saturday afternoon in Malibu. Ain’t nothin’ wrong with that, right?! Besides, Sofia is young and beautiful, and she’ll continue to get plenty of attention as she moves beyond this breakup… you know, if that’s what she wants.
