Scott Wolf Hinted Family Had 'Been Through Some Stuff' Months Before Divorce Shocker!

Scott Wolf Spoke Candidly About Facing 'Challenges' With Family Before Kelley Wolf Divorce

Less than six months before his wife dropped the bombshell, announcing the end of their 21-year marriage, actor Scott Wolf actually hinted at some problems. to the media about some of the struggles his family has been through recently.

The Party of Five alum is now separated from his wife Kelley Wolf. As mentioned, she took to Instagram to make a very candid (and kind, TBH) announcement about the end of their marriage.

The whole thing seemed so abrupt considering Scott and Kelley had been married for more than two decades and share three children — sons Jackson, 16, and Miller, 12, and daughter, Lucy, 11. But looking back now, it appears an interview Scott did in January with Us Weekly may have at least partially forewarned the world of this sad outcome.

In that five-month-old chat, the TV star revealed the “last few years” had not been easy on his family. Scott said at the time:

“The last few years have presented life in a way that we hadn’t experienced before. These are not life and death issues, but reframing issues, things that have, kind of, challenges, and watching our family go through things that have presented challenges … to find our way through in ways that have changed the way I see happiness.”

Knowing what we know now… oof.

Here’s the thing, though: Scott stayed super vague about those family issues throughout the chat. He called the difficult period of time “weird for a lot of people,” but never said exactly what was happening. Instead, he reflected:

“My family’s been through some stuff over the past few years. This period of time has been weird for a lot of people. And we sort of got blown in the wind a little bit, moved around a bunch, and [I] watched my children deal with all of that.”

He did have some very sweet things to say at the time about Kelley, though. He started by saying:

“You pick the right person to begin with and obviously that’s the whole thing, but it’s not the whole thing. I used to say that was the whole thing and believe it was the whole thing. But no, now we’ve lived life. We’ve been through a lot and we’ve been very blessed. And most of it just has been incredible.”

And then he went on:

“We’ve been through challenging things, and there’s no one I want to talk to more. There’s no one I want to share my experience with more. She’s just an incredible mother and human being. She likes me too most days.”

Uhhhhh that last sentence?!?! Whoa! Now, to be fair, he was probably making that comment in jest, a bit of self-deprecation, nbd… as one tends to do. But still… in retrospect… damn.

He then concluded the eyebrow-raising January chat with even more praise for his wife:

“We communicate well. She’s a life coach, and I mean, she is of the highest order. She is, like, a seer and a holder of light and love. She’s always known when we need to talk, when we need to clear something. And I think for a lot of people, if that communication is tricky or hard or just isn’t maintained, then things can just become something, even though they don’t necessarily deserve to be something.”

FWIW, Kelley also praised Scott in her divorce announcement on Tuesday. So, there’s obviously a lot of respect between the two of them. But still, WTF was going on recently that got them to this point?

Ugh. Sending love and light to all involved…
