Sean Avery Booted From Dallas Stars

Dallas Stars hockey player Sean Avery is out of there!

Following a 6 game suspension and mandatory anger management classes for calling hockey groupie ex-girlfriend Elisha Cuthbert “sloppy seconds,” Avery is now being snipped from the team altogether.

Apparently the comment was just the icing on the cake, as Avery was a notorious troublemaker on the ice and known as the NHL’s most-hated player.

He’s caused trouble both on and off the ice, starting fights, calling names, and even earning a hockey penalty in his name.

With a history of dating actresses, articles in People, interning at Vogue, and working with a publicist – which is typically unheard of in the NHL – folks wonder where Avery’s devotion actually lies.

The details of his departure are being worked out, to make the split as amicable as possible.

In a statement released by the team, the Stars said, “All parties said there is a clear understanding that a return to the Stars is not in the best interest of either the hockey club or Avery.”

And Stars co-general manager Brett Hull said in a statement, “Sean needs to focus on his own well-being while the Stars hockey team must focus on playing hockey and competing for a playoff spot. We all need to move forward.”

Avery was initially signed to the Stars in hopes that his “grit and character” would help resurrect the team. Instead, the Stars have nosedived, with injuries and Avery at fault.

With Avery’s hockey future a little hazy (And that’s not from one too many blows to the noggin on the ice), the lesson of this story is that even in hockey you gotta play nice, bitches!
