Selena Gomez isn’t happy!
The superstar singer is the focus of Elle‘s October 2018 cover story — which we got a look at earlier today, BTW — but to hear Selena tell it now, she’s not exactly happy with how she came across in the interview!

Written by Mickey Rapkin, the interview itself (read it HERE) touches on Selena simplifying her life, selling some of her mansions, moving to Orange County, and volunteering to fight against human trafficking.
It also touched on a few other topics (Demi Lovato, Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin, new music, how she doesn’t use social media, etc., etc.), but honestly, it was pretty tame — especially compared to how wannabe-edgy these contrived cover stories can get sometimes.
But Selena didn’t see it quite the same way.
Within the last hour, she posted a looooong message to her Instagram account biting back at some of the focus the cover story had on her church and her work against human trafficking.

It appears the issue here is… Rapkin mentioned her church (Hillsong Church) by name, in passing, while Selena didn’t, because it’s more personal to her? And for some reason, because of that, she’s “a bit bummed but rarely surprised” that “reporters are working to grab the attention of a reader”??
Is this her very own Donald Trump-esque”FAKE NEWS!” moment???

We’re honestly lost on the huge controversy here, Selena. Help! LOLz!!!
The only part where Selena comes across even remotely negative is a question posed to her in the piece about working with Woody Allen. Selena declined to comment, but as she quipped immediately afterwards, she’s not even on the internet herself any more to monitor the outrage machine.
And yet, suddenly, she re-joins the internet to blast this cover story? Inneresting…
