We are living in viral material world and Selena Gomez is most definitiely a material girl.
It’s almost like a right of passage now: being old enough to get onto Facebook and Twitter. Wild to think that only like five years ago, half the things we do to pass the time on the Internet didn’t even exist! But the great thing is, our world wide web just keeps on growing and our ways of communicating are becoming even more exciting. The thing is, if you don’t get on board now, you will most definitily get left behind, which is exactly why Selena, as a young, ambitious and creative new age gal, is embracing some really exciting opportunities and putting her hard earned money on some fun innoventions for the future.
In a new interview, she goes in-depth about her relationship with her fans on Twitter, her love of the Internet and investing in a small, up-and-coming company that created her favorite new app, Postcard on the Run. Here are some of the HIGHlights:
On using Twitter everyday and connecting with her millions of fans:
“I don’t think about the number when I Twitter. I just think about what I’m going to say. I love the instant connection. It’s a great way to let people know what you’re up to. If ‘N Sync had a Twitter back in the day, I’d be blowing up their Twitter like crazy. I read as much as I can. Sometimes I don’t respond├óΓé¼┬ªI just read my @replies. They’re sweet and encouraging.”
On using her MacBook as her TV:
“I like the laptop. It’s not as loud, and I like having it right there, by my couch or bed, and laying down with it. It’s comforting.” (She lists her fave shows as Will & Grace, The OC, and her “favorite show in the entire world” Friends.)
On imagining life without technology:
“It’s really scary to think about that. What would anyone do without a cellphone or laptop?”
On why she chose to invest in Postcard on the Run?
“I was looking through a bunch of different apps. I like photo apps to put effects on pictures. I found the Postcard app and I thought, why isn’t this bigger? It’s so cool. So we contacted them.”
We’re sold! Girls just want to have fun — especially on our smartphones!
Gotta love the time we’re in! Just so much fun to be had!
