Serena Williams Pays Tribute To All The 'Exhausted, Stressed' Working Moms In Inspirational AF Post!

Serenea Williams posts tribute to working moms

Being a working mom isn’t an easy job, but someone’s gotta do it!

Thankfully, Serena Williams is always up for a challenge, even if it means she’s sometimes “exhausted” and “stressed” in between her professional tennis matches.

The legendary athlete took to Instagram on Friday and opened up about how tough it can be to dominate in her sport while raising her and husband Alexis Ohanian‘s 2-year-old daughter Alexis Olympia Ohanian, Jr., aka Olympia.

Alongside a photo (above) of herself sitting barefaced inside a parked vehicle and holding her little girl, she wrote:

“I am not sure who took this picture but Working and being a mom is not easy. I am often exhausted, stressed, and then I go play a professional tennis match. We keep going. I am so proud and inspired by the women who do it day in and day out. I’m proud to be this baby’s mama @olympiaohanian. #nofilter #nomakeup #nohairbursh lol #justme.”

Preach!

Unsurprisingly, the post received tons of love, with over 343,000 people liking it and users leaving positive comments like:

“Thank you for this! Feeling it extra hard today being a working mom.”

“Thank your bringing some realness to this very superficial World we live in.”

Even a few celebrities applauded Serena’s message, including fellow working mom, Mindy Kaling, who commented:

“This this this ??”

This isn’t the first time the 38-year-old has gotten candid about the struggles of motherhood. In 2018, she wrote an emotional Instagram post opening up about a “funk” she was in over not being “a good mom.”

She wrote:

“Last week was not easy for me. Not only was I accepting some tough personal stuff, but I just was in a funk. Mostly, I felt like I was not a good mom. I read several articles that said postpartum emotions can last up to 3 years if not dealt with. I like communication best. Talking things through with my mom, my sisters, my friends let me know that my feelings are totally normal.”

Noting how it’s totally okay and normal if moms are going through a tough time, she continued:

“I’m here to say: if you are having a rough day or week–it’s ok–I am, too!!! There’s always tomm!”

SO, so inspiring!

Keep up the excellent work, momma!
