A self-proclaimed “serial killer” will be spending the rest of his life in prison after a judge came down on him on Halloween. That date is rather fitting considering the name he gave himself…
Joshua Dotson was charged with two counts of first-degree murder after fatally shooting his 19-year-old girlfriend Jamesha Covson and her unborn child in Memphis, Tennessee in 2020. According to the Shelby County District Attorney’s Office, he shot the teen after an “argument about a Facebook post and her pregnancy,” then posted a memorial on the social media platform — which the DA believes was “a calculated attempt to distance himself from the crime.”

He was taken into custody and during his trial, took the stand in how own defense, where according to Fox 13, he admitted “I’m a serial killer.” He then reportedly claimed he killed Jamesha for “for snitching on him,” and eerily in reference to the Halloween horror series, he told the court:
“I am Michael Myers.”
Terrifying…
It only took the jury 45 minutes to deliberate before finding him guilty of the charges. And on Thursday — Halloween day– he was sentenced to 102 years in prison for the heinous crimes. How fitting for someone who both refers to himself as the fictional Halloween killer and really did commit horrible murders…
Fox 13 reported his defense team tried to get concurrent 51-year sentences, but the judge refused to oblige, stating the case was “one of the saddest situations I’ve ever seen in my career,” and claimed Joshua didn’t ever show any remorse. The judge added:
“The jury got it right.”
As for the other three alleged murders — one being a double homicide — they reportedly happened between 2019 and 2020, according to the DA. As of August, charges had not been filed yet.
