Bad news for any Flintstones fans who were expecting Seth MacFarlane‘s reboot of the series sooner than later.
Due to his crazy packed schedule — which includes a movie, four television shows, and a music career — the showrunner has had to put the cartoon’s revival on hold.
FOX announced that the Family Guy creator was bringing back The Flintstones last May and was aiming for a 2013 release. Despite commenting on the project’s continued progress last month at the South By Southwest Festival, it proved to be an impossible task because of MacFarlane’s current workload.
No word on when the show will begin production now, but we’re glad all parties involved aren’t rushing to get it done and are instead focusing on making The Flintstones reboot the best it can be.
