Move over cliché French Maids and Sexy Police Offers, there’s uh, a new hot Halloween costume in town.
Well, there was.
Online retailer Yandy.com recently removed a “sexy Handmaid’s Tale” costume from its site after fans of the show said the getup went too far.

The “Yandy Brave Red Maden Costume” features the same iconic white cap and red cape seen in the Hulu original show. Except this version is basically a mini, red bodycon dress with a cape made for “bold” costume wearers.
The costume’s description once read:
“An upsetting dystopian future has emerged where women no longer have a say. However, we say be bold and speak your mind in this exclusive Brave Red Maiden costume.”
Yandy has since pulled the costume from its site, and tweeted an official statement/apology (below):
