Shailene Woodley Is As Vulnerable As They Come! Her Openness About Hollywood Heartbreak Makes Her Even MORE Amazing!

Ya know, if anyone marches to the beat of her own drum, it’s definitely Shailene Woodley!
So that’s why it’s incredibly surprising to hear her admit to giving in to the pressures of Hollywood!
Well, only briefly, but still!
The Fault in Our Stars actress opened up to Vanity Fair about being in the spotlight and she admitted that she buckled under the pressure and gave in to trying to live up to other’s expectations!
She admitted:

“Somebody came to me and said, ‘I can’t wait to see what you do next.’ I took that as pressure—that I had to live up to somebody else’s expectations. There were a few months where I was like, ‘I don’t want to act anymore.’ And then I got over it and realized it’s none of my business what other people think of me.”

We’re seriously glad that she got over her fear, or else we wouldn’t have the wonderful wood nymph that is Shailene!
However, Shailene still suffers from those Hollywood expectations from time to time.
She also revealed what it felt like to get cut from The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and it doesn’t sound like it was the best feeling!
She said:

“For a few hours it was literally like, ‘Oh, my God, was I awful? Why did they cut me? What are people going to think?’ I woke up the next morning and I was like, ‘O.K., it makes total sense.’ I’m a pretty spiritual person, so I can just sit back and trust that everything happens for a reason, even if my ego doesn’t like it.”

Wow! She wouldn’t get cut because she couldn’t act! We can’t BELIEVE she’d think that.
However, it’s nice to see that even stars like Shailene can get hit with self-doubt like this!
Stars, they’re people too!
