AGAIN?! Shakira Under NEW Investigation For Alleged Tax Fraud!

Shakira isn’t out of the woods yet!

It would seem like the Spanish government is after the Hips Don’t Lie songstress once again following their original investigation into alleged tax fraud. As we previously reported, the country’s officials are suing her for allegedly not paying $14 million in taxes when she lived there from 2012-2014 — a claim she’s denied heavily, calling it a “smear campaign.” She’s scheduled to stand trial later this year, but according to Reuters on Thursday, there are even more problems she has to worry about now!

The Spanish government announced they’re now investigating the pop star for more tax fraud from 2018, relating to her income and wealth. The city of Esplugues de Llobregat’s court offered no further comment on the new investigation, but did say she’s now possibly facing ANOTHER eight year prison sentence! Whoa!

Aside from the potential jail time, the most troubling part for the She-Wolf songstress is that she wasn’t even given a heads up — she found out when we did! According to her reps Thursday, the 46-year-old wasn’t notified of the impending investigation against her:

“The singer’s legal team will not make any comment until the notification reaches her through the formal and legally established channels.”

Yeesh, that’s got to be rough…

Well, since she’s now living in Miami, she’s going to have to be personally served at her new address.

Until then, her reps continued in their statement, she still believes this is just BS:

“As she has already stated on numerous occasions, Shakira asserts that she has always acted in accordance with the law and under the advice of the best tax experts. She is now focused on her artistic life in Miami and is calm and confident that her tax affairs will be resolved favourably.”

Wow.

First her messy split with ex Gerard Piqué, and now this?? It’s not looking like Shakira’s year at all! Reactions, Perezcious readers?
