Shania Twain Reveals Dangerous & 'Unhealthy Things' She Did To 'Be Thinner' -- And How She Learned To Love Changing Body!

Shania Twain is getting incredibly candid about the “unhealthy” habits she picked up while adjusting to a changing body.

In an interview with The Times out on Sunday, the singer recalled going to extreme lengths to become “thinner” during her 2019 Las Vegas residency. The now-60-year-old sadly recalled:

“I stopped looking at myself in the mirror. I hated my body.”

She now realizes that was a red flag:

“I’m, like, ‘Oh, I cannot stand this changing body.’ But that was so unhealthy. Who cannot look at themselves in the mirror?”

It can be hard for anyone to accept bodily changes, especially when things are out of their control!

The Man! I Feel Like A Woman! artist said her body started to change as she got older, and despite sticking to her normal routines, she wasn’t seeing the same results:

“So, all of a sudden, I’m bloating and I’m definitely not in control. I can’t just lose five pounds.”

And that’s when she decided to do “very unhealthy things” to lose weight, she detailed:

“I was working my body more than I was feeding it to keep up with the strain.”

But this change, which was meant to help her “be thinner,” resulted in her being “malnourished” and played a part of her injuring herself on stage. Oh, no! Sounds like she definitely took it too far!

Now, the Grammy winner’s had a complete change of heart and is actually grateful for menopause! She said:

“Now I’m like, bring on the mirrors, I’m going to look at myself all day long! Menopause has been very good for me because I’ve learned that some things you cannot control.”

And let’s not forget, she looks f**king fantastic! Beauty comes in all shapes and sizes — and at any age!!

This is something Shania first really came to terms with in 2022 when she showed off her “new body” by now wearing a shirt in the album artwork for her single Waking Up Dreaming. She told People at the time:

“This is me expressing my truth. I’m comfortable in my own skin, and this is the way I am sharing that confidence.”

She added:

“I was just so unashamed of my new body, you know, as a woman [who] is well into my menopause. I’m not even emotional about it; I just feel OK about it.”

Whoa! What an incredible journey she’s been on with her body image! We’re sure there are so many women who have faced similar struggles as they’ve grown. Hopefully, Shania’s newfound confidence inspires everyone in their own journeys!
