Sharks Navigation - Better Than a GPS!

Shark GPS
Incredible or and terrifying!
Swimming through deep water at night and often over great distances, sharks always seem to get to where they are going with pinpoint accuracy.
A new study reveals sharks├óΓé¼Γäó amazing navigational abilities, even though scientists still aren’t sure how they do it.
Researchers at the Florida Museum of Natural History tracked several types of sharks in the Pacific and discovered that tiger and thresher sharks traveled over longer distances with a clear sense of direction.
The biggest voyagers were the tiger sharks, which during the study period swam over eight kilometres. Some research has tracked this species heading to a goal 50 kilometres away!
Scientist have a few theories to explain shark GPS. One suggests that sharks keep a mental map of landmarks, ocean currents and temperatures. Another suggests that sharks navigate by the Earth’s magnetic field, similar to pigeons.
We just hope they can’t find us!
