Sharon Stone is convinced she briefly went to heaven — or at least somewhere that sounds a lot like the Pearly Gates!
For a recent chat with Closer Weekly, the blonde beauty opened up about the subarachnoid brain hemorrhage she suffered from back in 2001 and the bright white light she saw while unconscious. Hmm, go on!

The Basic Instinct actress explained:
“I feel that I did die. This kind of giant vortex of white light was upon me and – poof! I sort of took off into this glorious, bright-white light.”
Huh. In case you forgot, the Sliver star thought she was having a stroke back in September of 2001 and waited three days before she actually went to the hospital. Obviously, the whole ordeal forced Sharon to take a step back from acting as she had to learn how to walk and talk again.

However, the white light wasn’t the only thing Miz Stone experienced as she claims she also saw several of her deceased loved ones. Sharon continued:
“I started to see and be met by some of my friends… people who were very, very dear to me [who had died]. I had a real journey with this that took me to places both here and beyond.”
Whoa. Nonetheless, the entire experience didn’t last very long as the A-lister noted:
“But it was very fast – whoosh! Suddenly, I was back. I was in my body.”
While many people may doubt the 58-year-old’s story, the mother-of-three was clearly moved by what happened to her. Sharon concluded:
“It affected my life so profoundly that it will never be the same… I get not to be afraid of dying and I get to tell other people that it’s a fabulous thing and death is a gift.
When death comes to you, as it will, it’s a glorious and beautiful thing. I had an incredible sense of well-being and a sense that it’s just so near. Death – it’s very near and very safe. It’s not a far away or scary thing.”
Intense stuff! And as to why she survived this health scare? The former model credits “God” for keeping her “around for a reason”.
