Errrr…This is just odd.
In another attempt to apologize for plagiarizing Daniel Clowes‘ work, since stealing other people’s apologies didn’t seem to go over well, Shia LaBeouf hired a skywriter to spell out his apology over Hollywood on New Years Day.
He posted the pic (above) to his Twitter along with the message:
CLOUD:
– vapor floating in the atmosphere
– remote servers used to SHARE DATA
– to make LESS CLEAR or TRANSPARENT
However, while the message was, obviously, intended for Daniel, he didn’t even see it!
Daniel’s editor, Eric Reynolds, spoke up about the skywriting and he basically wrote off the entire gesture!
He said:
├óΓé¼┼ôI imagine airplane messaging is the norm in Hollywood, but someone really should have informed Mr. LaBeouf that Mr. Clowes lives in the Bay Area before he went to all that trouble.”
LOLOLzz!! Ouch!
Maybe Shia should have checked where Daniel lives before hiring a skywriter in the wrong town!
Let’s hope that Shia has adopted a “New Year, New You” attitude and this whole odd, insensitive apologizing thing is over.
