Simon Cowell continues to be coy when asked about who he has selected to join him at the judges table of the American installment of The X Factor. There are so many names flying around that it might be hard to keep track, but let’s see if we can pin this down a bit from what Simon told sources recently.
First of all, sorry, no Katy Perry or Elton John. We kind of figured this, but Simon confirmed it, saying that Katy is too busy and that Elton is too “grumpy.” Uh, excuse you?! Check yourself before you wreck yourself. That’s still Sir Elton you’re talking about there.
Moving on – as far as the shortlist of judges stands at the moment, top contenders include former X Factor judging-fave Nicole Scherzinger, Mariah Carey, George Michael and Simon’s former Idol cohort, Paula Abdul. Of the latter, Simon explained:
“We’ve taken it down to a smaller group of people and she’s in that panel. But, you know, it’s more than me who makes the decision.”
Okay, so what about the rumored decision that Jessica Simpson is a definite?
On that, he wouldn’t say, but he did reveal that he had recently met with “somebody who I’ve never met before in my life, who I just loved.”
Could this new mystery person be the next name on the shortlist?
And what about Cheryl??? Is she out? Is she in?
We’re going to need some answers soon, Simon, or we might just BURST! Hurry up and just pick people already!!!
