In a recent interview, Simon Cowell said that if he can’t have the Number 1 ratings spot, then he wants nothing at all!
Secretly Sensitive Simon said, “Being No. 1 is verging on an obsession with me. I don├óΓé¼Γäót like being No. 2. I don├óΓé¼Γäót mind when you start at No. 10 — people don├óΓé¼Γäót always go on as No. 1 — and you├óΓé¼Γäóve got somewhere to go. But if you├óΓé¼Γäóre at the point you├óΓé¼Γäóve reached it, of course you want to stay there,” adding that he “absolutely would not” stay on American Idol if the show was ever only second best.
And with his deal with Fox concluding at the end of the season, it might just be time for a change anyway, as Simon also said, “The idea that for the next five years, I├óΓé¼Γäód be doing exactly what I├óΓé¼Γäóve been doing for the past five years ├óΓé¼┬ª the thought is just too depressing.”
Critical Cowell then teased that he might be importing his X Factor from the UK, saying, “Maybe it├óΓé¼Γäóll be X Factor…. Maybe it├óΓé¼Γäóll be something new ├óΓé¼┬ª”
Guess we will have to wait and see!
P.S. Simon, if you’re looking for judges for the American version of X Factor, Perez is available!
