This is just too sad.
A six-month-old girl has died after she was shot multiple times outside her home. Her father was changing the baby’s diapers at the time.
Johnylah Watkins was shot five times and passed away a day after the tragic incident.
Here’s what a Chicago pastor said:
├óΓé¼┼ôThe city of Chicago should be outraged that a 6-month-old baby could be shot and killed in our city. It’s horrific. We’re going to find who did this and make sure they are brought to justice. We’re not going to be afraid. We’re going to take back our neighborhood.”
Johnylah’s father, Jonathan Watkins, is in stable condition at the hospital after he was shot three times.
Jonathan is a known gang-banger, and evidence suggests the shooting was gang-related and that Jonathan was the “exclusive” target.
The gunman fled the scene after the shooting, and police are searching for the shooter although they do not have any leads.
We cannot express how sad we feel for the family. Our deepest condolences to the mother and to the other relatives of the child’s family.
