This is going to be an intense first court appearance.
The two 12-year-old girls who stabbed their peer and friend 19 times at a sleepover, and who later claimed that they did it for a fictional character named Slender Man, are expecting to appear in court in Wisconsin.
Meanwhile, the parents of the unnamed girl whom the twelve-year-old girls attacked, stabbed, and left for dead have released a statement in accordance with the news. They said:
“Our family fully supports the District Attorney├óΓé¼Γäós Office in their prosecution of this case. However, our daughter and our entire family continue to focus on both her physical and emotional healing. She continues to amaze us in her ability to persevere and move forward ├óΓé¼ΓÇ£ taking one day at a time. Much of our strength comes from knowing that there is so much ‘good’ coming from so many people, and we continue to witness this firsthand from the compassion given to our little girl from around the world.”
That little girl by the way, like the parents said, is absolutely a fighter and has felt the love from around the world since her horribly traumatic near-death experience.
As for these twelve-year-old girls, their lawyers have been attempting to get them tried not as adults but as juveniles. If that happens they could be found guilty, but be out of prison by the age of 25 instead of a possibly MUCH longer sentence.
Many people will be curious to see if these lawyers can obtain that kind of thing from the judge.
We doubt that kind of thing will be easy to do.
