A Sad Situation In Hungary

A big mess in Hungary!
On Monday a gigantic sludge reservoir burst in a metals plant in Aijka, a town 100 miles south of Budapest. It was estimated that 35 million cubic feet of toxic waste flowed into nearby towns.
Apparently a criminal case has been opened to see if there was any on-the-job carelessness.
The European Union said it feared the toxic flood could turn into an ecological disaster for half a dozen European nations.
Emergency workers and construction crews in hazmat gear were sweeping through the Hungarian towns Wednesday. They were trying to clear the thick red sludge and caustic muddy water.
As of wednesday the reservoir was no longer leaking, a triple-tiered protective wall was being built around the reservoir’s damaged area.
We hope this situation gets dealt with and that it gets cleaned up for the sake of the environment and the people of Hungary.
