She may be The Girl You Wish You Hadn’t Started A Conversation With At A Party, but on April 25th, 2015, she’s going to be the talk of the biggest party in Washington!
The White House Correspondents Dinner has already found its host for 2015, and it’s none other that Saturday Night Live star Cecily Strong!

This is a huge honor for the two-year SNL rookie who is joining a list of much bigger stars including Stephen Colbert, Conan O’Brien, Jon Stewart, and of course her former Weekend Update co-host Seth Meyers.
It seems to be Cecily’s Chicago connection that cinched the gig. WHCA President Christi Parsons said:
“Her political humor is sly and edgy, and it comes with a Chicago accent. Cecily grew up in suburban Oak Park, Ill. and got her start in Chicago’s comedy scene with stints at iO and Second City.”
So at least she and President Obama will have plenty to talk about in between speeches!
Of course, the other really interesting thing here is that Cecily is only the fourth woman to host, following Wanda Sykes in 2009 and Paula Poundstone and Elayne Boosler in 1992 and 1993, respectively.
Just another reason we LOVE this surprising choice!
