It’s a whole new Snoop!
And we’re not just talking music-wise!
That’s right, the rapper has decided to forgo the genre that made him famous after traveling to Jamaica and being SERIOUSLY moved by Rastafarian culture, and now, with the help of producer Diplo, has created an entirely new reggae sound for his new album, and even calls himself Snoop Lion!
And if you can’t take OUR word alone, don’t worry!
He had a documentary crew capture the entire spiritual journey!

He explains:
“There comes a point where you say I done it all, or there isn’t much more to do. This was like a rebirth for me. With no disrespect to other rappers, but they can’t f**k with me in rap… I’ve won every accolade you can get in rap, they call me ‘Uncle Snoop’ in rap. When you’re an uncle, it’s time to find something new… I want to feel like a kid again. I have always said I was Bob Marley reincarnated. I feel I have always been a Rastafarian. I just didn’t have my third eye open, but it’s wide open right now. I could never become Snoop Lion if I wasn├óΓé¼Γäót Snoop Dogg.├óΓé¼┬¥
WOW!
We wouldn’t go as far to say that he’s the reincarnated MARLEY, but this certainly does sound like a really fascinating – and ambitious – journey that we’re excited was captured on film!
Here’s hoping this whole rebirth goes better than Lil’ Wayne‘s rock album!
