Well here’s something you don’t see everyday!
Cameroon-born Joseph Minala‘s soccer career was put in jeopardy recently when a group of skeptics claimed he was lying about his age!
At just 17-years-old, he currently plays for the Italian club Lazio‘s youth team. However, based on his appearance alone, some began to wonder if he was actually a teenager! In fact, an African website went so far as to claim he was actually 41 years old, meaning he was actually 24 years older than he was claiming to be!
Well the rumors prompted the Italian Football Association to run some age tests on Joseph, and they eventually found out that he is indeed 17 years old!
Joseph has been cleared to continue playing soccer, and according to his agent this isn’t the first time there’s been doubt about his age! Sadly, he’s even had to delete pictures on Facebook and Instagram!
Luckily, Joseph was able to prove all of the haters wrong and can now focus on doing what he does best. Playing soccer!
