We didn’t expect this!!
When we sat down to watch the Sochi Olympic Closing Ceremony, we figured we’d get the usual amount of spectacle on-par with the Opening Ceremony — we might’ve even been waiting for a mistake or two, but assumed there would be no way they’d let that happen.
As it turns out… they DID let it happen! On purpose!
At one point during the closing ceremony, the performers formed the Olympic rings and one of the them didn’t open! It was just like the Opening ceremony, except this time Russia did it on purpose!
Amazing!
The nod to their original mistake was a great humanizing way to play with the world’s expectations, and it was everything!
Despite all the water/stray dog/hotel issues, we’d say Sochi’s Olympics went off better than everyone thought they would!
That still doesn’t change how they treat the LGBT community, though.
