Awkward!
Reports out earlier this week suggested that Sofia Richie has but one stipulation during media interviews: she will not, under any circumstances, discuss her relationship with Scott Disick.
Seems simple enough. And yet…

On Friday morning, Sofia went on Australia’s The Morning Show to talk about her time Down Under, some fashion label work she’d been doing, and growing up in a famous family.
And while the hosts of the show (presumably) received notice not to talk about Scott… they weaseled in a few questions about him, and the pair’s relationship, anyways.
Sofia deflected decently well, though; first, when they found a way to tie-in Scott to a question about the shoe brand Sofia was in Australia to promote in the first place, she offered (below):
“Yeah, he actually showed me the shoe line and said, ‘these are really cute sneakers you should wear these.’ Then they reached out. And it all worked out from there.”
Not a bad deflection!
But immediately after, the hosts decided to ask Sofia specifically about her request not to talk about Scott, and straight up questioned her about whether she was even happy being interviewed.

She responded thoughtfully (below):
“I mean, I can’t deny the fact that that’s my life. By the way, that’s been my life forever, it’s nothing new to me. I’m not upset that I have to answer these questions, but there are moments that I have where I’m like, I want to be my own person and I want to stand as my own person. And I think that’s actually what drives me to work and do my own thing, and to want to make my own mark. I be want to seen as my own person, even though I have all these amazing people in my life that I love so much.”
OK!
Definitely made for an awkward moment in the interview, even with Sofia deftly brushing past it a bit.
