First, let us say that we thought the quota for condiments had been met and that we’re surprised people are out there actively trying to create new staples! Ha!
But, that’s not the case. The proof? Sofia Vergara‘s boyfriend, Nick Loeb, has created one based on a product he knew as a kid growing up in Scandinavia.
So what is it??
“They put roasted onions on their hot dogs there. I went back there as an adult and rediscovered them. I brought some home to my friends who put them on their burgers. They loved them.”
His product is called Onion Crunch, and it’s now in 3,000 stores!
“We want to keep it at a similar price point to Hellmann’s mayonnaise or Heinz ketchup, and promote to the average Americans to put on their salads or burgers. When I go and meet a buyer, I compare it to Nutella. That’s a product that was in Europe for a long time that only came to America in the last decade, but now Americans know it.”
And honestly, it sounds delicious!
And it sounds like it’s getting big! Congrats!
