South Carolina Lawmakers Officially Ban The Confederate Flag At The Capitol!

no title
This flag won’t be flying for too much longer!
Earlier this week, it was reported that South Carolina’s state senate voted to remove the Confederate flag from the state Capitol grounds.
On Thursday, the House approved the historic Senate bill in a 93-27 vote! The bill will now head to Republican Governor Nikki Haley to sign into law.

We don’t know the exact timing of the flag removal, but it could come down as early as Friday!
The proposal to remove the flag was a result of last month’s racially-charged shootings at Charleston’s Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church, where nine black people were killed.
While supporters of the flag associate it with Southern pride, opposers say it is a symbol of support for slavery and racism.
We think it’s great that South Carolina is willing to make a change in the right direction. Hopefully other states in the south follow suit and make a stand for unity!
