The announcement of actor Tom Holland as the new Spider-Man has been met with Batfleck-level vitriol on social media — mostly just because he’s white.
And though we would totally like to see more diversity in our superhero movies, we’re not sure all this loathing should be leveled at Tom.

The young actor has earned acclaim for his work so far and he may end up proving perfect for the role.
