Plane Makes Emergency Landing Over Potentially Life-Threatening Foot Odor!

Being trapped on a flight with a bad smell can feel like a life or death situation — and for one flight, it apparently was.
A Spirit Airlines flight from New York to Fort Lauderdale, Florida had to make an emergency landing because passengers were reportedly experiencing burning in their chests and throats from what they described as foot odor.

Between seven and 10 passengers were sent to the hospital after the flight was diverted to South Carolina. All 220 passengers were forced to disembark.
Hazmat crews searched for the source of the funky odor but were unable to pinpoint its origin.
The airline says it is still investigating what caused the big stink.
