After a series of tweets supporting an agent’s anti-gay marriage stance, Damian Goddard was fired by Sportsnet.
Sportsnet is trying to play it off as something that was a long time coming.
The company’s communications director, Dave Rashford, released a statement:
“Mr. Goddard was a freelance contractor and in recent weeks it had become clear that he is not the right fit for our organization.”
Goddard tweeted the following in response hockey agent Todd Reynold’s remarks that he was upset about a New York Ranger’s PSA supporting gay marriage.
“I completely and whole-heartedly support Todd Reynolds and his support for the traditional and TRUE meaning of marriage.”
Gross.
Kudos to Sportsnet for firing him!
