St. Patrick’s Day is a time-honored holiday meant to bring people together, often in a drunken stupor; it should NOT be an instrument to tear them apart!
The celebration isn’t about race, gender, religion, political affiliation, sexual orientation, or even ethnicity — it’s about wearing green & binge drinking until you see Leprechauns enjoying an adult beverage responsibly!
Whether it’s dying a river green or simply having a parade, most major U.S. celebrate the holiday in some official capacity. Unfortunately, the festivities in several cities — including Boston & NYC — are actually quite intolerant to the LGBT community!
They’ve gone so far as to forbid LGBT supporters from marching openly in the parade!!!
Thankfully, not everyone is cool with these narrow-minded shenanigans! Earlier we told you Sam Adams was pulling out, but apparently they aren’t the only ones!!!
Heineken & Guinness, two other major beer manufactures that traditionally partner with St. Patrick’s Day parades, has decided to severe a few ties!
Ugh! As disappointed as we are to learn about the parade organizers’ intolerance, it’s really nice to see companies taking a stand!
We’re sure it would be easy for Heineken and Guinness to look the other way and rake in the cash, but this boycott shows they’re about more than getting rich!!!
