Earlier this week, former Stanford student Brock Turner was found guilty of sexually assaulting a girl behind a dumpster and was ONLY given six months in jail by the judge — and now we know Brock’s thoughts on the matter!

Since the verdict, we’ve read the powerful letter written by the victim and know that there’s a petition to unseat the judge who handed down the EXTREMELY light sentence.
However, now we have a little more insight into the former student’s mind as The Guardian obtained the letter Brock wrote to Santa Clara County Judge Aaron Persky in which he expressed some regret — but for the TOTALLY wrong reasons! Turner said in a statement:

“The night of January 17th changed my life and the lives of everyone involved forever. I can never go back to being the person I was before that day. I am no longer a swimmer, a student, a resident of California, or the product of the work that I put in to accomplish the goals that I set out in the first 19 years of my life.”

UGH. That just sounds SO self-centered that we question if the the 20-year-old even understands the pain he’s caused someone else. The letter continued:

“I would give anything to change what happened that night. I can never forgive myself for imposing trauma and pain on [redacted]. It debilitates me to think that my actions have caused her emotional and physical stress that is completely unwarranted and unfair. The thought of this is in my head every second of every day since this event has occurred. These ideas never leave my mind. During the day, I shake uncontrollably from the amount I torment myself by thinking about what has happened. I wish I had the ability to go back in time and never pick up a drink that night, let alone interact with [redacted].”

Though there is some mention of the effect that his actions had on the unnamed victim, Brock just seems incredibly focused on himself and how the experience negatively impacted him. Sorry not sorry if we have ZERO sympathy for an attacker who focuses on the struggles that they’re going through instead of what they did to someone else.
The former student-athlete even had the balls to say he “lost two jobs” because of the reporting done on the case. SRSLY?! You’re worried about jobs?!
At this point it’s not surprising at all to see that the letter goes on to at least partially blame “party culture” for his actions saying:

“I’ve been shattered by the party culture and risk taking behavior that I briefly experienced in my four months at school. I’ve lost my chance to swim in the Olympics. I’ve lost my ability to obtain a Stanford degree. I’ve lost employment opportunity, my reputation and most of all, my life. These things force me to never want to put myself in a position where I have to sacrifice everything. I would make it my life’s mission to show everyone that I can contribute and be a positive influence on society from these events that have transpired.”

The Ohio native also discussed why he felt he should receive probation but as you can imagine, it’s just more of the BS because for some reason, Brock seems to be mainly focused on himself and all the things HE has lost — unfortunately, one of those things isn’t his peen.
