J.J. Abrams Has A BIG Regret About The Script For Star Wars: Episode VIII!

J.J. Abrams
won’t be directing the next Star Wars film — but he totally wishes he was!
According to reports, The Force Awakens filmmaker was so blown away by the script for Star Wars XIII that he regrets not agreeing to direct the next installment!
The director’s lifelong friend Greg Grunberg, who has a small part as X-Wing pilot Snap Wexley in Awakens, said that he’d never heard the 49-year-old have second thoughts about passing before — except maybe one other time!

Speaking to The Washington Post, the actor said:

“He read it and said something he never, ever says. He said, ├óΓé¼╦£It’s so good, I wish I were making it.’ He may have said something one time on ├óΓé¼╦£Lost’ with Damon [Lindelof], but I never hear him express regret like that.”

Wow — the script must be gold if it’s making one of the hottest directors in Hollywood regret stepping down!
It’s also good news for Abrams’ successor Rian Johnson, whose past work includes directing Brick and Looper.
Even though he’s no longer directing, Abrams will be serving as executive producer on the Star Wars franchise — so we can expect the rest of the new trilogy to be just as popular as The Force Awakens!
