Is Starbucks secretly pushing a “gay agenda” via their holiday cups??
That is the debate currently underway thanks to a theory circulating around the internet about the new seasonal cups. While the cup in question features only a pair of holding hands, BuzzFeed reporter Venessa Wong has linked those hands to the animated lesbian couple featured in Starbucks’ commercial about the holiday design.

Wong discussed her theory for a piece published earlier this week, as she wrote:
“While people who follow both Starbucks holiday cup news and LGBT issues celebrated the video, the ordinary Starbucks customer probably didn’t realize the cup might have a gay agenda.”
And it seems Venessa isn’t alone in her theory as many have taken to Twitter to weigh in on the controversial design. Let’s just say the reactions have been — mixed:
We’re loving @Starbucks‘ new festive ad with a lesbian couple. Can someone draw us a @LadyGaga cup please? https://t.co/HLjTufRFu8

I’m going to be buying tons of Starbucks if indeed their cups are pushing the gay agenda.

Last year Starbucks attacked religion and this year they’re pushing gay agenda? Seriously? Who cares 😂 it’s not contagious. Drink your damn coffee and find something more important to worry about

Ban Starbucks for not supporting everyone and pushing one idealism upon us all! Just another Progressive Liberal company owner pushing their divisive agenda upon everyone who is not a liberal or may disagree with gay lifestyle. Let Liberals buy the cool aid from Starbucks! Ban!

I don’t believe anyone is stupid enough to think the Starbucks cup has a gay couple on it.
I think the outrage was manufactured by the media industrial complex.
Nobody is mad at Starbucks. They just want us to watch their shows and retweet their shit.

I can’t tell the genders of the people holding hands, on this cup, could be an abomination, better not risk it. 🤣

So can I check off “Ruin Christmas with Starbucks cups” on my Gay Agenda? pic.twitter.com/T13hMnJtJc

The new Starbucks cup has lesbian couple on it. Rom 1:26 “because of this,God gave them over to shameful lust”…

It├óΓé¼Γäós true. I was heterosexual when I woke up Tuesday morning. But then after stopping at Starbucks for a Caramel Br├â┬╗l├â┬⌐e (seriously people….try this! So good) I became gay. Who else am I to blame but that damn paper cup?!?

2015:
“These plain red Starbucks cups are anti-Christmas and anti-Christian!”
2016:
“Green Starbucks cups?!? Fuck you, you Jesus-hating monsters!!”
2017:
“All that Christmas cheer and hand holding is pretty gay…”

Starbucks has remained strategically coy about the gender of the drawings on the cup, but DID released the following statement:
“Each year during the holidays we aim to bring our customers an experience that inspires the spirit of the season, and we will continue to embrace and welcome customers from all backgrounds and religions in our stores around the world.”
Translation: There’s no “gay agenda,” rather they’re simply promoting the ideology of inclusiveness. DUH.
Still, the company is certainly milking the attention, as they responded to one customer:
We’re happy you enjoy the new campaign, Rufus! ├░┼╕ΓÇÖ┼í

We see you, Starbucks! That’s the “no comment” of the social media world!
